Heather's photography on display May 30, 2008

My work, both fine art and portrait work, will be on display at four locations in Atascadero on May 30, 2008. Well, you can see them anytime at the following locations, except for the church.

Start the evening the Lavender Rose Garden (the home of my photography studio) at 9965 El Camino Real, Ste. A where I will be spending the majority of the evening, then go by McGee's restaurant, I'm the featured artist there and they will be passing appetizers, as well as serving dinner. Next, head downtown and visit the Community Church of Atascadero (in the fellowship hall) at 5850 Rosario Ave. Six other artists will also be on display with the featured artist being Sally Tippman. And then stop by EarthTones Gift and Gallery, 5970 Entrada Ave.
Of course, don't forget to stop by all the other great participating businesses and organizations. It is particularly important to stop by those that aren't in the core downtown as they will get the most visitors because they have critical mass.
See you Friday!
Heather

Leah and Cody Engagement Session

Leah, Cody and I (and my assistant Kelly) headed out to Shell Beach to shoot their engagement session. They were so much fun and relaxed with me shooting off their photos. I love it when my subjects are comfortable playing around in front of my cam. I like to capture my subject as they are, so when people see their photos, they say, "that's SO you!"

Jamie's senior photos

I had the opportunity to photography Jamie's senior photos. She's a junior at Atascadero High School and I got to get her photos early. We had a great time running around outside her family's house getting great photos. She was afraid to do anything! And the photos turned out GREAT! Thanks for being such a great subject, Jamie!

Jessica and Skyler--Mother-daughter session

This is my favorite photo of Jessica and Skyler.

Jessica and her daughter, Skyler, and I headed out to Shell Creek Road to the wildflowers last month to shoot some portraits of the two of them. Jessica was about 6 months pregnant. We had a great time out there. Skyler was so cute and they were both a lot of fun to work with!

Atascadero Art Tour on May 30

Atascadero will host its first art tour on Friday, May 30 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. throughout Atascadero. It is a city-wide event, free and open to the public. The concept is that local businesses and organizations will host art receptions on the same night at the same time. There will be refreshments, wine, discounts, artists, drawings and more at different locations. Click here for more information. Be sure to stop by my studio, Young Curry Photography at the Lavender Rose Garden, at 9965 El Camino Real, Ste. A, Atascadero. We'll be having a raffle for a variety of products and services, including some from some of our business friends and then donating 100% of the money to a local non-profit--we've all been so busy that we haven't had a chance to sit down and talk about it yet.
I hope you can make it to the inaugurial event and bring your friends, it will be a fun night out!

Ray and Paige

I shot Ray and Paige's photos several weeks ago when the wildflowers were plentiful (though they still are out here and there). We headed out to Shell Creek Road from Santa Margarita, we stopped at a few places along the road and had a great time together. I loved getting Ray's bike and gorgeous hair in the photos. Thanks for the great time, Ray and Paige!

Ronell and Rick Engagement session

I photographed Ronell and Rick and their very cute dog at Laguna Lake Park in San Luis. I've driven by the park and lake so many times and never noticed it until Ronell said that's where they wanted to have their photos. It's a very cool park and lake. And if you have dogs, then you'll love the free-range dog park. It's very grassy and if I had dogs, I'd definitely take them there.
